Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes in creating a production? Interested in being part of a production, but not sure being on stage is where you want to be? Try our crew class! Be involved with the crew for the Fall Production of "Elf Jr."! Every week you'll attend an in-depth, hands-on lesson in design and tech elements that are responsible for generating a theater performance success - this includes set design and construction, lighting design, costuming and basic sewing, makeup, prop construction, sound, technical special effects and more! You will attend production rehearsals on Friday evening, and and some Saturdays as you work on the Fall Production. As this class is in conjunction with the Fall Production. Part of this class will be assisting with auditions and doing a brief interview with the Production Artistic Team (as outlined in the Production Manuel). Please note this class will meet Fridays during Production Rehearsals as well as a few Saturdays. Attendance at Saturday Dry Run Through, and tech week are required. No snack cards will be available for this class. There is an extra $100.00 production fee due to cover extra class training, show shirt, script, opening night pizza party, and cast party.

Megan Toews

I got bit by the theater bug when I was very young, performing in church and school productions. In high school I not only spent lots of time onstage but also backstage. I learned to create and inspire through many aspects of technical theater. I have continued to enjoy being involved in community theater and recently have had the pleasure of teaching kids theater classes and being involved in CYT productions. I have spent my adult life working with kids to educate, encourage and help them find what makes them special. Theater has taught me to push myself further than I thought I could and I hope to inspire kids to find that passion in themselves.
